Each biospecimen is assigned a unique identifier, placed in a cryovial, and stored in a liquid nitrogen tank (-196°C).

Storage Environment & Management

We maintain a secure, access-controlled specimen storage facility and use a real-time monitoring system to continuously track the temperature of liquid nitrogen storage tanks.

Regular Quality Control

We assess the quality of extracted DNA and RNA, including purity and integrity metrics such as the DNA Integrity Number (DIN) and RNA Integrity Number (RIN). Tissue quality and suitability for research are evaluated using H&E-stained frozen sections.

Participation in External Quality Assessment

We participate annually in the Korean Society of Pathologists' quality control accreditation for biobanks of human biospecimens and in the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's human biospecimens proficiency program, achieving excellent results.
